What Sets Me Apart From Other Hairstylists?
Great hair is important. But the experience, the connection, and how you feel when you leave my chair? That matters just as much.
With 24 years of experience behind the chair, I’ve learned that being a great hairstylist is about so much more than knowing how to cut or color hair. It’s about listening, problem-solving, building relationships, and helping people feel confident in their own skin.
I take a lot of pride in what I do, and I’m intentional about the experience I provide to every client who sits in my chair. So, if you’re looking for a hairstylist who combines experience, personalized attention, and a genuine passion for making people feel their best, here’s a little more about what makes my approach different!
1. Experience Matters (Trust Me, It Does!)
I’ve been doing hair for 24 years, and that’s a lot of hours behind the chair! Over the years, I’ve invested in continuing education, taken countless classes, and continually worked to refine my skills.
Why does that matter to you? Because hair isn’t always predictable, and sometimes it takes an experienced stylist to figure out what’s going on and how to get you where you want to be.
Maybe your haircut never seems to fall quite right. Maybe your color feels flat, your curls aren’t cooperating, or you’ve been struggling to find a style that works with your lifestyle. These are the kinds of challenges I love helping my clients overcome.
My experience allows me to look beyond the inspiration photo and consider your hair’s texture, condition, natural movement, and maintenance needs. My goal is to create a result that looks beautiful in the salon and works for you in real life.
2. I’m Well-Rounded, With a Special Place in My Heart for Curly Hair
I love variety, and one of the things I enjoy most about my career is that no two heads of hair are exactly alike!
I offer a wide range of color services, from beautiful blondes and dimensional brunettes to rich reds. When it comes to cutting, I work with everything from pixies and precision bobs to long hair, men’s cuts, and just about everything in between.
But one specialty that has become a big part of my business is curly hair.
As someone with curly hair myself, I understand that curls have their own personality. Sometimes they’re fabulous, and sometimes they seem to have plans of their own!
I struggled with my curls as a teenager, so I want to help make that journey easier for you. I know how frustrating it can be when you don’t understand your hair or can’t seem to get it to do what you want.
About seven years ago, I really leaned into curly hair education and made it a bigger focus of my business. I recognized a need for stylists who understand curls, and I wanted to help fill that gap. There’s something incredibly rewarding about helping a curly-haired client embrace their natural texture and achieve the curls of their dreams.
I do a lot of marketing toward curly-haired clients for one simple reason: I want people who are struggling to find a stylist who understands their curls to be able to find me.
That doesn’t mean curly hair is all I do, though! I love working with all hair types, textures, and colors. Curly hair is a specialty of mine, but my skills and interests go far beyond that.
Whether you’re looking for a curl specialist, a fresh precision cut, a dimensional color transformation, or a beautiful new blonde, I’m here for it.
3. Your Appointment Is Your Time. Period.
Ever been to a salon where your stylist is juggling multiple clients, bouncing between chairs, and leaving you wondering when they’ll get back to you?
That’s not how I like to do things.
I don’t double-book appointments because I believe every client deserves my undivided attention.
When you’re in my chair, I want you to feel like you have my full focus. Your goals, your questions, and your experience matter to me, and I don’t want you to feel rushed or like you’re competing for my attention.
The exception? If you’re family and want to come in together, I’m happy to make that happen when scheduling allows!
Otherwise, it’s you and me. Your appointment, your time, and your hair goals. No juggling clients and no unnecessary distractions.
I believe that personalized attention is part of what makes a salon experience truly special, and it’s something I take seriously.
4. What to Expect When You’re in My Chair
Think beautiful, high-end salon experience without the high-end stuffiness.
Our salon has an elevated, polished atmosphere, but it’s also warm, welcoming, and full of personality. We genuinely enjoy working together, and there’s a fun, friendly energy in the salon that I think makes a difference.
I want you to feel comfortable the moment you walk through the door, whether it’s your first visit or you’ve been coming to me for years.
Here’s what your appointment will look like!
First, we’ll talk about your hair goals.
Before your appointment, we’ll usually have a brief digital consultation to discuss your inspiration photos, current hair, and what you’re hoping to achieve. This helps us plan the right amount of time for your service and establish realistic expectations before you arrive.
Once you’re in my chair, we’ll talk about what you’re loving about your current hairstyle, what isn’t working for you, and what you’d like to change. I want to understand your goals before we get started so we can create a plan together.
Then, it’s time to relax and enjoy a little pampering.
I’ll get you a drink of your choice, and when it’s time for your shampoo, you can look forward to one of the best parts of the appointment: a relaxing head massage with your wash and conditioning treatment.
It’s a client favorite for a reason!
Let’s make some beautiful hair.
Whether we’re creating a fresh cut, dimensional color, a gorgeous blonde, or a curly transformation, I’ll use my experience and professional techniques to bring your vision to life.
For my color services, I use Keune hair color, a family-owned professional brand with a long-standing commitment to quality. After working with many different professional color lines throughout my career, I’ve found Keune to be a line I feel particularly confident using, especially when it comes to scalp comfort.
Why I Choose Keune Hair Color
I’ve worked with a lot of different professional color lines throughout my 24 years in the industry, and one of the things that stands out to me about Keune is how few scalp reactions I’ve personally encountered while using it.
In my experience, I’ve had approximately two clients experience a reaction with this color line. Considering the number of years I’ve been behind the chair and the many clients I’ve colored, that’s an exceptionally low number in my personal experience.
That’s a big deal to me! I want to use products that deliver beautiful, reliable results while also prioritizing my clients’ comfort. My experience with Keune has made me feel confident in my choice to use it for my color services.
Of course, everyone’s skin is different, and no hair color can guarantee that a reaction will never happen. But finding a color line that has worked so well for my clients, with so few reactions in my experience, is something I truly value.
Your hair’s health and your comfort matter to me, and choosing the products I work with is a decision I take seriously.
For styling, I also work with quality professional products from brands like Kevin Murphy, R+Co, Davines, Loma, and more.
Finish strong, and leave feeling fabulous.
Once your cut or color is complete, I’ll style your hair and help you understand how to maintain your look at home.
We’ll talk about the products that make sense for your hair, whether you need help with curl definition, color maintenance, moisture, volume, or your everyday styling routine.
Before you leave, we’ll make sure you have a plan for caring for your hair between visits, and we’ll get your next appointment scheduled if you’re ready.
The goal? For you to walk out feeling confident, refreshed, and like a million bucks.
5. I’m On Time, and I Respect Yours!
Your time is valuable, and I treat it that way.
I work very hard to stay on schedule, and I’m proud of how consistently I do so. If something unexpected happens and I’m running five to ten minutes behind, I’ll send you a text so you’re not left wondering what’s going on or waiting unnecessarily in the lobby.
I also take my commitment to your appointment seriously. I rarely call out of work, and I do everything I reasonably can to honor the appointments I’ve made.
Of course, unexpected things can happen to anyone. But I believe that respecting each other’s time, communicating clearly, and keeping commitments whenever possible are all part of a great client-stylist relationship.
I show up for my clients, and I appreciate clients who show up for me, too!
6. I Care a Little Too Much (In the Best Way!)
I eat, sleep, and breathe hair. It’s my passion, and after 24 years, I still care deeply about what I do.
I’m always looking for ways to improve my skills, learn new techniques, and provide an even better experience for my clients. I care about the details, the results, and the little things that can make a big difference in how your hair looks and feels.
But more than anything, my mission is to help people feel better about themselves.
What I do isn’t just about hair. It’s about the connection I make with each person who sits in my chair. It’s about listening when you tell me what you’ve been struggling with, celebrating when we achieve the look you’ve been wanting, and helping you feel comfortable and confident throughout the process.
Sometimes, a great haircut or the perfect color can change how you carry yourself. Sometimes, taking a little time for yourself and having someone listen to you is just as meaningful.
I want my clients to leave feeling better than when they arrived, inside and out.
And yes, I absolutely want you to love your hair. But I also want you to feel seen, heard, and cared for while you’re here.
Because at the end of the day, the best part of my job isn’t just creating beautiful hair. It’s getting to make a positive difference in someone’s day.
